Tips for working with a recruiter.

  • Open, honest, frequent communication is key
  • Triple check your resume for errors, including verifying accurate dates of employment
  • Never embellish degrees or credentials
  • Ask questions and make sure you're fully informed
  • Audit your online brand (update your LinkedIn, check Facebook, Twitter, etc. for anything you wouldn't want a potential employer to see)
  • Share wish lists of positions and organizations that interest you

Our clients come to us with very specific needs, we then go out to the market and try to find the best candidates to fit those needs. I sent my resume, but I never heard from anyone at Bloomfield & Company. Can you contact me? We receive a tremendous number of unsolicited resumes, so we can only contact a small number of individuals. We will contact you if your background is right for one of our searches.

Where can I view a list of open positions/who are your clients? Some of our clients require nondisclosure agreements, so we do not post a list of open positions. We work with a wide range of clients, from large, publicly traded companies to nonprofits and associations to philanthropists and family offices. You may occasionally see one of our ads on a major job board.

Do I have to take testing? Sometimes! Some clients ask we administer various exercises. For example, a writing intensive position may require a brief writing exercise, and an administrative position may require Microsoft Office testing.

Can I pay you a fee to help me find a job? No, our clients engage us in very specific searches. You are free to share your resume with us, but there is no guarantee we will be able to assist you. 

Can I pay you to review my resume and provide interview coaching? We do not currently offer resume review or interview coaching.

What is your confidentiality and privacy policy? Your resume, contact information, and other data voluntarily provided to us is kept on file in perpetuity. Your information is never shared with prospective employers without your explicit permission, nor do we share or sell your information with any third parties. If for any reason you wish to cease communication with Bloomfield, simply let us know.
